Handsome and Handy

“If the women don’t find you handsome they should at least find you handy!” – Red Green   That’s how I describe this FREE service from www.embedr.com “handsome and handy” to steal a phrase from Red Green.  I’ve been developing a website with one of my business partners.  He has a video production company.  We were looking for some different ways to share some of his work.  What you can do at www.embedr.com is very simply make a playlist of your videos and create a good looking interface to play them back.  I really encourage you to try it out. Here’s the one I created for my partner Dave.

It really is easy. The one trick is that you need to use the URL to your YouTube video that is in your browser to add to your playlist. Just like you were going to bookmark or share a link to a page. The videos will play in the order that you put them in and you can re-arrange them later on. Note that others can share you Embedr Player as well and it works with more that just YouTube. There are a lot of other applications where you could use video delivery method. I haven’t come across any major problems. It does take a bit to load which could be a problem but I think the user functionality is worth the wait. The place where this can really shine is if you had a series of training videos and you wanted to surround the player with other content. It works well with my hosting provider to which I’ve provided a banner to below. Speaking of “handsome and handy” I plan to do a few posts on some of the extras that my hosting provider includes in their service.
